Every Drop Counts

Did you know that an American home can waste, on average, more than 10,000 gallons of water every year due to running toilets, dripping faucets, and other household leaks?

Nationwide, more than 1 trillion gallons of water leak from U.S. homes each year. That's why WaterSense reminds Americans to check their plumbing fixtures and irrigation systems each year during Fix a Leak Week.

Pure, clean water.

That’s what the ads say. But what does the lab say?

When you shell out for bottled water, which costs up to 1,900 times more than tap water, you have a right to know what exactly is inside that pricey plastic bottle.

Most bottled water makers don’t agree. They keep secret some or all the answers to these elementary questions:

•Where does the water come from?

•Is it purified? How?

•Have tests found any contaminants?

Call Innerline Plumbing to schedule a free water analysis and we can show you how a ProSeries Whole House water treatment system can solve all of your water woes.

Texans who want to save money on ENERGY STAR® appliances will soon have a chance to apply for mail-in rebates on those purchases. Texas Comptroller Susan Combs announced the purchase period for the Texas Appliance Mail-In Rebate Program will start on Dec. 20.

Approximately $10 million is available for the traditional mail-in rebate program, which will remain open until all funds are distributed.

“As Texans buy appliances that can help cut their energy bills, they can also save on the price of the appliances with these rebates,” said Combs. “Consumers can start buying the appliances on Dec. 20 and, after installation, mail in their completed rebate application form and a copy of the receipt to be eligible for the rebates.”

The EPA mandates that water testing occur annually and that these results be reported to all municipal water users. Many of these reports are very informative, but you should be sure you're reading for information and not for entertainment. Some of the information is spun in a way that you may not immediately understand the potential dangers that are shown in the numbers.

Water is our most precious natural resource. With only 3 percent of the world’s water existing as fresh water, nearly every continent is feeling the affects of the global water crisis. For some, it’s the lack of clean drinking water. For farmers, it’s the inability to feed the thirst of valuable crops. Just as “easy oil” has dried up, fresh water has become more difficult to access and transport.
