Toilets are generally one of the highest users of water inside a home, combined with washing machines, they use about 48% of water that enters your home. Through the H2Ome Improvement Rebate Program, City of Allen residents can receive up to $100 for replacing an existing high-volume toilet with a new, qualifying Low Flow Toilet. Low flow models use 1.6 gallons of water or less per flush instead of the 3-7 gallons used by older toilets. An average family of four uses over 25,000 gallons of water a year just flushing the toilet. Getting rid of your old water-wasting toilet saves you water and money.
Homes must have been built prior to 1998 and must not already have high efficiency toilets installed.
Low flow toilet rebate program is for home owners only. Tenant and commercial requests are not eligible.
Only new, qualifying models of toilets will be eligible for rebate. New high efficiency qualifying toilet (0.8-1.6 gallons per flush) must replace a low efficiency toilet (approximately 3-7 gallons per flush).
Rebate includes up to 50% of the price of a qualifying toilet and installation costs incurred by a licensed plumber. Up to $100 for the first toilet, $75 for the second and $50 for the third, each for separate bathrooms. Tax is not included.
Limit one toilet per bathroom, up to three, for the lifetime of a home.
Replaced toilets must be disposed of by making an appointment with Community Services to collect them by calling 214-509-4500. Your old toilet must be recorded as properly disposed of before a rebate can be issued.
