Save Money This Summer: Install Sub Meter on Potable Water System

Posted April 15th, 2007 by Craig Woolheater

Don’t throw money down the drain.

It’s that time of year again – you irrigate your lawn, or water your garden, wash your car, the kids are running under the sprinkler and your water and sewer bills soar along with the temperature. But where does the water go? It seeps into the ground, yet you continue to pay sewer bills as if it went down the drain inside your home or building.

If water is pumped to your home or building, but doesn’t enter the sewer system, you can stop throwing your money down the drain by installing a separate sub meter, which registers water that doesn’t enter the sewer system.

Why Throw Money Away?
