Busiest Plumbing Day of the Year

Posted November 22nd, 2006 by Craig Woolheater

Turkey day may just be the busiest plumbing day of the year.  Plumbers across the country will be on call all day Thanksgiving Day waiting to rescue those who stuff the turkey carcass down the kitchen sink.  Those garbage disposals are hard workers, but let’s face it, five pounds of potato skins is just too much for the garbage disposal to tackle.  If you want to save yourself the headache and embarrassment of a clogged drainage system this holiday, take the extra time and effort to dispose of these Thanksgiving extras properly, toss them in the trash.

Also be aware that pouring that turkey grease down the drain, although seemingly painless at the time, can cause big problems for your home’s drainage system down the road.  How many of you pour that extra grease down the drain?  Well believe it or not, many people find this to be the method of choice.  The problem with this is that once in the drain pipe, the grease cools and hardens to form a very stubborn drain blocker, which you won’t notice until the drain starts to backup in your sink two months from now.  Again, take the extra time to dispose of the grease properly.

Follow these simple tips and avoid drainage problems this Thanksgiving weekend.  Those guys and gals on-call will thank you as they enjoy their pumpkin pie.

With that said, if you still experience problems and need plumbing help don’t hesitate to call Innerline Plumbing.  We’ll finish our pie later. (817) 477-5202 or (972) 216-3646.
